I know I’ve said things in the past that didn’t come out right. There’s a part of me that always feels sorry for the times I was harsh or distant. You know how it is, though, right? I think sometimes I get so caught up in my own head, in the weight of everything, and I forget to show you the love I’ve always had.

I want you to know something, though. I’ll always love you, Eli. No matter what. You’re something special to me—more than I could ever really put into words.

I guess I’ve never been the best at expressing it. Sometimes I wish I could show you in a way that feels like enough. But honestly, you’re the smoothest criminal I’ve ever known, and I can’t help but admire that about you. You’ve always had this way of making life feel lighter, like we’re in on a secret, just the two of us.

Thank you, for everything. For being you. For being the person who made it all feel like it was worth it. Even when I was distant or too focused on my own mess, you’ve always been there.

And I don’t want you to think that I take you for granted. What we have is precious. I just want you to know that, no matter where life takes us, you’ll always have a piece of my heart.
